Minister Blaney Applauds Quebec Law Enforcement on Child Pornography Arrests

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 21, 2013) - The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, today commended the Sûreté du Québec and local law enforcement on the arrest of 28 individuals in the province on child-pornography related charges, involving children as young as age five.

"I would like to recognize and thank members of the Sûreté du Québec and a number of local police agencies as well as the RCMP for their efforts to apprehend those suspected of committing atrocious crimes against our most vulnerable citizens. Our government has been clear: those who possess, distribute or produce child pornography are committing horrific crimes and should be punished to the full extent of the law."
