Minister Blaney Promotes Good Cyber Safety Practices Over the Holidays

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 17, 2013) - Today, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, encouraged Canadians to protect their mobile devices and to stay safe online over the holiday season.

"The holidays are a great time to spend time with loved ones, relax, do some online shopping and stay connected with friends and family on mobile devices, but we still need to remain vigilant when it comes to cyber security practices - cyber criminals and fraudsters never take a day off," said Minister Blaney. "This holiday season, we should all educate ourselves about the small steps we can take to keep our digital information safe, like ensuring our online purchases are made securely and our mobile devices are password protected."
