Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Wishes Best of Luck to Canadians Nominated for Academy Awards


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 25, 2011) - I would like to wish the best of luck to the following Canadians who have been nominated for Oscars that will be announced at the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday evening.

For Best Foreign-Language Film:

  • Luc Déry and Kim McCraw, producers of the film Incendies 
  • Denis Villeneuve, director and screenwriter of the film Incendies

For Best Makeup:

  • Adrien Morot, makeup effects artist for the film Barney's Version

For Best Sound Editing:

For Best Sound Mixing:

  • Craig Berkey, for his editing work, along with his creative partner, on the film True Grit and for his accomplishments, with the help of others, in sound-mixing on the same film

For Best Animated Feature:

  • Dean DeBlois, co-writer and co-director of How to Train Your Dragon
