Minister Clement Announces Government of Canada Investments in Muskoka's Heritage

BRACEBRIDGE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 18, 2010) - The Honourable Tony Clement, Member of Parliament for Parry Sound—Muskoka, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for FedNor, announced today that the Government of Canada is investing $87,390 to support the marketing efforts of the Muskoka Heritage Foundation.

"Our Government knows that a strong Canadian economy is built on strong local communities. That's why we are committed to investing in initiatives that build on the strengths of the regional economy and capitalize on opportunities to diversify and create jobs," said Minister Clement. "This investment will help the Muskoka Heritage Foundation develop its brand and provide a youth with valuable job experience right here in Northern Ontario."

Funding for the projects announced today is provided through FedNor's Northern Ontario Development Program (NODP) which supports strategic initiatives that create an environment for economic growth, diversification, and business competitiveness and productivity.
