OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 12, 2011) - On December 9, 2011, the Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for FedNor, tabled the Inventory of Government of Canada Organizations 2011 and the Annual Report to Parliament on the Tabling of Crown Corporations' Reports 2011 in the House of Commons.
The Inventory of Government of Canada Organizations 2011 describes how the government is organized and has been published in multiple electronic formats. It is available on the Treasury Board Secretariat website and as a dataset integrated with the federal government's Open Data Portal.
"Making information available in differerent formats, like datasets, is important for us as we advance our Open Government initiative," said Minister Clement. "We know that providing access to government data will enable citizens and organizations to leverage it for commercial purposes, research or community services for the benefit of all Canadians."
