Minister MacKay Announces Four Contract Awards at Canadian Forces Base Shilo

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 10, 2012) - The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, today announced four contract awards for supply and placement of granular base materials for M203 Firing Range, M203 Firing Range repairs, the supply of topsoil, and the installation of a humidification system at the Emergency Services Facility at Canadian Forces Base Shilo. The overall value of the contracts is $542,802.

"These initiatives demonstrate our government's continued commitment to our men and women in uniform," said Minister MacKay.

The Canadian Forces is a first-class, modern military delivering excellence at a home and is a strong and reliable partner in the defence of North America making meaningful contributions to international security.

The Government of Canada conducted open, fair, and transparent competition processes to award contracts for these projects.

The Department of National Defence holds a large number of properties all across the country to support the Canadian Forces, including some 21,000 buildings, 2.25 million hectares of land, 5500 km of roads, and 3000 km of water, storm, and sewer pipes.
