Minister of State Ablonczy Congratulates Young Entrepreneur Award Winners

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 20, 2009) - The Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), today issued the following statement to recognize the Business Development Bank of Canada's (BDC) Young Entrepreneur Award winners:

"The BDC's Young Entrepreneur Awards demonstrate the budding optimism in Canada and showcase some of the ideas and talent being developed by young entrepreneurs. These innovations make Canada stronger, and for this, I congratulate all of the winners for their contributions to Canada's economic success. Your leadership, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit make us all very proud.

"These young entrepreneurs had the courage and determination to turn their innovative ideas - from high technology to restaurants, fitness and insulation - into successful businesses. They have turned challenges into opportunities and are leading the way to Canada's future economic prosperity.

"Through Canada's Economic Action Plan, our government is supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs as they innovate, create jobs and generate wealth across the country. By increasing access to financing, lowering taxes and cutting red tape, we are creating the right conditions to lead them to succeed and push their boundaries.

"I look forward to hearing about all of the winners' accomplishments in the years to come. I know that they will be very successful.

"Congratulations again to all of the Young Entrepreneur Award recipients. You are the future of this country, and your hard work and determination have certainly paid off."
