Minister Raitt Congratulates Canadian Museum of Nature and PSAC on Ratifying New Agreement

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 2, 2012) - Today, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, congratulated the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) for ratifying a new collective agreement.

"I am very pleased that the Canadian Museum of Nature and PSAC have reached an agreement without resorting to a work stoppage," said Minister Raitt. "Strong labour-management relations benefit our country's economic prosperity and the economic security of Canadians."

PSAC represents 175 clerical and office employees whose previous collective agreement expired on June 15, 2010.

The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.
