Minister Raitt Congratulates the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority and the UCTE on Reaching a Collective Agreement

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 22, 2012) - Today, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, congratulated the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority (GMIAA) and the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) Local 60605 on successfully concluding a new collective agreement covering approximately 40 airport firefighters and maintenance and administration staff.

"I am very pleased that the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority and the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees worked closely together to negotiate an agreement," said Minister Raitt. "Strong labour-management relations benefit our country's economic prosperity and the economic security of Canadians."

The Labour Program develops, administers and enforces workplace legislation and regulations, such as the Canada Labour Code. These laws cover industrial relations, health and safety, and employment standards, and apply to federally regulated workers and employers.
