Miracle Toddler Jesse Arrigo Needs The Media's Help

Fundraiser to Fund Urgent Medical Treatments is Three Weeks Away

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 4, 2015) - Three years ago, a ten-month-old Jesse Arrigo made local and national news headlines when he was rescued from drowning in his grandparent's garden pond. Deprived of oxygen for 55 minutes Jesse fought hard and when his heart finally stabilized he survived two cardiac arrests in the first hour. Today, his family is calling on Mississauga media to help get awareness out about a fundraiser to provide the medical treatments he needs to thrive.

Over the last three years, Jesse has beaten the odds and outlived several predictions of his life expectancy. He has fought through seizures, dystonia, and double pneumonia. Jesse now breathes on his own, his eyes are engaged in everything around him, he responds excitedly to music, the voices and the touch of his family. With regular therapy sessions, he is also passing swallow tests as he learns to eat orally to get off of feeding and medication by G-tube.

The therapies that Jesse requires today and in the future are very expensive and there are currently no funding sources, grants, subsidies or government assistance available. These therapies are highly effective and integral to Jesse's continued progress and include:

Physiotherapy $6,250.
Stem cell therapy $56,000.
Osteopathy $3,200.
Swallow Therapy $10,000.
Intensive Suit Therapy $18,300.

The Arrigo family must also purchase a wheel chair assessable van ($45-$50,000) to transport Jesse safely to his appointments and are hoping for a local business or automotive sponsor to step forward.

With a goal of raising $100,000 to ease the financial burden of these ongoing treatments and to raise the many issues related to brain injury awareness the Arrigo family will be hosting the Evening of Miracles fundraiser at Mississauga's Apollo Convention Centre.
