"What Not to Do in 2013" Discussion With Katie Rae and Jean Hammond


CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - Jan 4, 2013) - On January 9, the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge will host an Innovation Series event "New Year's Resolutions for Startup Founders" featuring Katie Rae, Managing Director of Tech Stars and founder of Project 11, and Jean Hammond, investor and member of Hub Angels and Launchpad Venture Group.

Every entrepreneur or new venture will experience challenges and even crises. Recovering successfully from mistakes and learning from failures are requisite skills for winning entrepreneurs. Katie Rae and Jean Hammond have significant experience mentoring and guiding founders through the minefields of building a viable company. This candid discussion will share what they have learned and insights applicable to all startups.

Katie Rae joined TechStars in 2010 as Managing Director, specializing in rapid product development and customer growth strategies for Internet businesses that scale. She is also a founder of Project 11, a firm that invests in and assists early-stage startups. She has spent her career building significant Internet businesses in the community, self-publishing and search spaces.

Jean Hammond is a successful serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry. Now an investor and member of Hub Angels and Launchpad Venture Group, Jean gained abundant C-level experience prior to her current role. Most recently, she served as the interim CEO for JAM Technologies.
