Mitchell Supports Education and Health Awareness Through Charitable Efforts

Mitchell's Employee-Based (M)otorheads Team Partners With the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to Raise Money Through Annual Auto Race

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 19, 2014) - Mitchell, a leading provider of technology, connectivity and information solutions to the Property & Casualty (P&C) claims and Collision Repair industries, is partnering with a variety of educational and charitable organizations to promote technical learning and health awareness. In the past year, Mitchell's Repair Solutions business unit donated collision guide materials and provided financial support to a variety of institutions, including Contra Costa College, the Saginaw Career Complex and Maxwell High School of Technology.

Mitchell recognizes the importance of growing the industry through youth training and development. The company is committed to supporting these educational efforts by working with technical schools and organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

"A big part of our course is teaching students the processes of an estimating system, and the best way to do this is by hand writing a damage report," said Michael DeMello, damage report writing instructor at Contra Costa College. "This would be impossible without Mitchell's donation of collision guides. Furthermore, there would likely be no class without Mitchell's support -- they've been a great partner and have been key to educating the youth in our industry."

In addition to educational support, Mitchell's employee-driven team of automotive enthusiasts, the (m)otorheads, will partner with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society this month to raise money and build awareness for the organization during the annual 24 Hours of LeMons competition. The group has been working with the organization for five years, and will be racing once again on June 22 in Buttonwillow, CA.

"The (m)otorheads was first created to build a community within Mitchell and support an issue that's bigger than all of us," said Beau Sullivan, of Mitchell's (m)otorheads team. "This year, we're thrilled to be partnering once again with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise money for a cause that hits close to home."
