WHITBY, ON--(Marketwired - September 13, 2016) - The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) is Canada's industry technology association of property and casualty insurers, software providers and over 35,000 brokers. CSIO's Technology Scorecard tool provides brokerages with a snapshot view of their technology adoption in comparison to the provincial average. Mitchell & Whale recently received a 100% on that scorecard reflecting its ongoing quest for highest levels of customer experience and process efficiency.
"It is cool to be acknowledged in the top 1% of our peers. It is the smart way to do business and being one of the top performing brokerages feels pretty good to me," said Adam Mitchell President, Mitchell & Whale. "It validates what we are working towards. It is really important for us to use technology -- not just for the sake of using it -- but for the benefit of our team and our customers. Getting top marks on that scorecard validates our vision and commitment to being industry leaders."
The deployment of eDocs is a critical component of the Technology Scorecard. eDocs come into the brokerage via the broker management system with no user intervention. The documents are immediately available on the customer's file in a PDF format. eDocs include both personal and commercial policy documents. Commercial policy documents are big, sometimes 100 pages long. Paper versions can take a long time to scan, and search manually. eDocs are PDF format so they are searchable, making it easy to find information. It dramatically eases the process of using the documents and customers get documents faster and can reference them smoothly. It is now the standard way we do business.
eSignatures are also covered by the scorecard. eSignatures offer an ease of doing business for customers. They can be executed on a smartphone or tablet making the insurance process more enjoyable and rapid. There is also flexibility, if a couple has to sign a document but are not in the same place, one can sign and then the document will be automatically sent along for the other partner to sign. There is no time delay. We find that 80% of our customers at all ages are very satisfied with using eSignatures. eSignatures are considered legally binding. The scorecard also covers search engine optimization (SEO), social media and web security -- all areas of deep involvement for the company. Click here to see the interview with Adam Mitchel and his team about the importance of the achievement.
Additionally, Adam Mitchell, President, and Sean McNamara, Commercial Sales Broker, have both been named as Young Guns by Insurance Business Canada (IBCs) for 2016.
