Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada Inc. (MMSCAN) has donated $480,000 to Right To Play, the international humanitarian organization, as part of an ongoing commitment to provide direct financial aid or support to worthy sports oriented organizations and charities. Right To Play is a well established international humanitarian organization based in Toronto whose vision is to create a healthier and safer world through the power of sport and play.

This contribution is the result of a financial commitment made earlier this year by Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada Inc. to Right To Play that was tied directly to new vehicle retail sales. The actual amount of $480,000 is based on $100 per new vehicle sold at retail by Mitsubishi dealers across Canada during the extremely busy sales months of April, May and June of this year. This direct donation of almost half a million dollars to Right To Play is consistent with several of MMSCAN's various sports marketing programs, each of which reflect in some way the overall athleticism and strength of the Mitsubishi brand.

"We are very pleased to be making this direct cash contribution to Right To Play," said Koji Soga, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada Inc., "In the last few months our vehicle sales have been very strong, and it is our pleasure to give financial support at this time to such a well run and worthy charitable organization."

"Right To Play is thrilled to be the recipient of Mitsubishi's innovative campaign to give the gift of sport and play to children around the world. The Canadian Mitsubishi team shares our vision to create a healthier and safer world, which makes this partnership a great fit," said Johann Koss, President and CEO of Right to Play. "On behalf of the Right To Play team the world over, I would like to thank another great team - Mitsubishi Motors of Canada and their dealers - for their exceptional leadership and generosity in helping children lead happier and more productive lives."

Currently operating in 23 countries, Right To Play uses sport and play programs to improve health, build life skills, and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Right To Play is led by President and CEO Johann Koss, the legendary Norwegian speed skater and four time Olympic gold medalist. Right To Play is supported by an international team of top athletes from more than 40 countries who generously donate their time to give back through sport. These athletes inspire children, are role models for healthy lifestyle choices and help raise awareness and funding for Right To Play projects.
