MMR Information Systems Releases MyMedicalRecords Pro
| Source: MMR Information Systems, Inc.
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - August 31, 2009) - MMR Information Systems, Inc. (OTCBB : MMRF )
(the "Company"), which through its wholly-owned operating subsidiary,
MyMedicalRecords, Inc. ("MMR"), provides consumer-controlled Personal
Health Records ("PHRs") (www.mymedicalrecords.com) and electronic safe
deposit box storage solutions (www.myesafedepositbox.com), announced that
it has launched its MyMedicalRecords Pro ("MMRPro") product which is
designed to help doctors take the first steps towards an EMR system by
digitizing medical records and making them available to patients through a
patient portal that incorporates the MyMedicalRecords.com Personal Health
Record.
MMRPro was originally designed as a scanning and digitization program
designed to help doctors get paper records into an electronic format while
simultaneously creating a view only PHR for the patient. The patient would
then have the opportunity to upgrade to a full-featured paid version of the
MyMedicalRecords PHR with revenue being shared with the doctor or
healthcare professional. The MMRPro product launch will include Beta sites
at up to 50 physician offices.
MMRPro was showcased at the HIMSS Convention in April. Since then the
product has been upgraded to work in conjunction with Kodak Capture Pro
software and the newly released Kodak Scan Station 520, which combines a
scanner, PC and fax center all in one unit. As a result of this
integration, MMR has become an Independent Software Vendor Partner of Kodak
with the ability to deliver a turnkey professional solution to the doctor
in one box.
"What we have done with Kodak is to integrate MMRPro's proprietary patented
technologies to work with Kodak Capture Pro Software and the Kodak Scan
Station 520. This creates a turnkey solution that digitizes paper medical
records and automatically deposits them in patient folders that are indexed
to each practice's patient chart system," said Robert H. Lorsch, Chairman
and CEO of MMR Information Systems, Inc. "MMR will distribute and install
the MMRPro system in conjunction with Kodak distributors and resellers."
MMRPro was developed by MMR with Nihilent, MMR's technology partner. The
system will also include an optional ePrescription module available before
its commercial release. When released commercially, the Company believes
that it will have created an easy-to-use low cost system for doctors that
will meet Meaningful Use criteria.
Lorsch pointed out that the doctors involved in the Beta sites would
receive the product free of charge for 90 days. Commercial release of the
product will begin in early January 2010.
"We originally saw MMRPro as a gateway to EMRs," Lorsch said. "Now, with
the integration with the Kodak Scan Station 520 and the addition of the
ePrescribe software, we truly are offering a solution to doctors who want
to cost effectively transition into a full-blown EMR service and
potentially be eligible to receive some of the $19 billion in Health Care
Stimulus Funds that have been set aside by the Obama Administration."
