MMRGlobal Adds Health Information Technology Patents in Korea, Mexico & New Zealand

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 16, 2014) - MMRGlobal, Inc. (OTCQB: MMRF), through its wholly-owned subsidiary, MyMedicalRecords, Inc. (collectively "MMR" or the "Company"), today announced four new health information technology patents which are to issue including two patents in South Korea and additional patents in Mexico and New Zealand. MMR is a practicing entity and a leading provider of Personal Health Records ("PHRs") through its patented MyMedicalRecords product and service offerings. Robert H. Lorsch, Chairman and CEO of MMRGlobal, said, "The Company continues to add numerous patents both domestically and internationally in tandem with the revolution in health information technology happening all over the world. MMR is well positioned for the future of healthcare today as millions of consumers become engaged in better managing their care by tracking their personal health information."

The Company has been notified that the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) has allowed Patent Application No. 10-2010-7025779, entitled "Method and System for Providing Online Medical Records," and Patent Application No. 10-2008-7008445, also entitled "Method and System for Providing Online Medical Records." The allowed patent applications include 41 and 36 claims, respectively, for a total of 77 claims. The claims are directed toward accessing and collecting health records through a secure Web site which include amongst other things fax and voice communications. Claims also include features to manage prescriptions, calendaring prescription refills, sending prescription refill reminders as well as managing appointments with healthcare providers, and additional features associated with Personal Health Records. The resulting patents will be the Company's first and second issued patent in South Korea.

MMR has also recently been notified that the New Zealand Intellectual Property Office has agreed that the patent application entitled "Method and System for Managing Personal Health Records with Telemedicine and Health Monitoring Device Features," IP Number 627,858, is approved for acceptance. This application includes 21 claims directed toward generating Personal Health Records from patient monitoring devices and sharing these records with healthcare providers.

Additionally, MMR has been notified that the Mexican Industrial Property Institute (IMPI) has issued an official Notice of Allowance for Mexican Patent Application No. MX/a/2013/003650 entitled "Universal Patient Record Conversion Tool." The allowed patent application includes 15 claims directed to a system which allows patient data from practice management systems to be seamlessly uploaded into a healthcare provider portal system. MMR offers this tool as the Practice Management System Integration Application (PMSIA), which allows administrators in physician offices, hospitals and alternative care sites to facilitate the efficient population of patient information from a healthcare provider's practice management system to other Electronic Medical Record systems including the Company's MMRPro Web-based application.

"This universal tool represents a way that can help accelerate the growth of health information technology while allowing a faster, more efficient integration of Electronic Medical Records into any healthcare professional's office, opening the door for MMRGlobal to position its products with competitive EHR systems and potentially creating opportunities for incremental licensing revenue," added Lorsch.
