MMRGlobal to Introduce Patented Online Legal Records System

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 25, 2014) - MMRGlobal, Inc. (OTCQB: MMRF), through its wholly owned subsidiary MyMedicalRecords, Inc. (collectively, "MMR"), today announced that it has received a Notice of Allowance ("NOA") from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 12/204,498 entitled "Method and System for Providing Online Records." The application represents the first step in expanding MMR's health information technology ("HIT") Patent Portfolio from the medical profession to the legal profession. The NOA includes 28 claims directed toward accessing, collecting, storing, managing, and sharing legal documents and records. The Company believes that the new patent, when issued, will open opportunities for sales, licensing and strategic partnerships in document storage and retrieval services for companies like PACER, escrow, real estate and lending organizations and online consumer legal services, among numerous others.

MMR is a practicing entity and a leading provider of secure and easy-to-use Personal Health Records ("PHRs") and MyEsafeDepositBox document management and storage solutions. MMR plans on marketing its legal online records services and licensing of the new patent when issued through its MyEsafeDepositBox brand which is already designed to provide secure online access to important legal, financial, insurance and other vital documents, including a family's personal health information.

One of the markets for services such as those claimed in the allowed patent application is prepaid legal services, whether offered as an independent service or provided as an employee benefit.

The model of allowing patients to manage and control their protected health information is also applicable to other types of professional services such as legal services. MMR's unique document management systems will enable legal professionals and their clients to store, access and share important documents whenever and wherever they are needed privately and securely. The Company believes that online legal preparer services and prepaid legal services such as those described in the allowed patent application will become an important part of eCommerce and expanding employee benefit programs. Additionally, the need for easy-to-use IT solutions to store and manage legal and other important documents represent an opportunity for MMR by allowing individuals to take charge of their legal matters by being able to access, forward and edit them securely though MMR's MyESafeDepositBox system.

MMR has 10 issued U.S. health information technology patents, including U.S. Patent Nos. 8,121,855; 8,117,045; 8,117,646; 8,301,466; 8,321,240; 8,352,287; 8,352,288; 8,498,883; 8,626,532 and 8,645,161, and additional applications and continuation applications. MMR also has numerous other health IT patents issued, pending and applied for in countries or regional authorities of commercial interest, such as Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan, Canada, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Israel and Europe.
