mmwave Announces Contract to Deploy Wireless Access Network for High Speed Internet Services to 28 Communities in Rural Quebec

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - July 5, 2005) -

Contract Valued Initially at $2 million (CDN) with Additional Recurring Revenue

mmwave Technologies, a subsidiary of Wireless Age Communications, Inc. (OTCBB:WLSA), a leading provider of a full range of technical solutions to the Canadian communications market, today announced it has been chosen by Sogetel, an independent telephone company based in Nicolet, Quebec, to deploy a fixed wireless access network for the delivery of high speed Internet services to 28 communities and two native reserves in suburban and rural Quebec. Upon completion of the network, high speed Internet service will be available to the more than 11,000 dwellings in the Centre-du-Quebec region of the province that are currently limited to dial-up service only.

The contract, which is initially valued at $2 million (CDN) for the first year, is expected to provide recurring revenue to the company. The construction work is planned to commence this summer and is expected to be completed by November 2006.

"We are pleased that Sogetel chose us for this wireless access network," said Glenn Poulos, president of mmwave. "Once the network is fully deployed, we believe the more than 28,000 citizens of these communities will welcome the opportunity to utilize the Internet to its fullest - whether that be simply browsing online catalogues or conducting complicated research, the speed at which users will be able to download information will be increased more than 50 times."

"mmwave was chosen by Sogetel because of their proven ability to carry out projects of this nature as well as the company's outstanding customer service," said Alan Duhaime, president of Sogetel. "Their expertise at providing us a turnkey solution helps Sogetel continue to provide outstanding service to our customers in this area of Quebec."

Using Sogetel's extensive fiber network for backhaul, 10 access towers will transmit the signal providing up to 4 Mbps with a combination of licensed and license exempt frequencies using equipment from Airspan Networks Inc. mmwave will provide this network as a turnkey solution, being responsible for engineering, equipment supply and installation.
