RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL--(Marketwire - March 10, 2008) - MMX Mineração e Metálicos S.A. ("MMX" or "Company") (BOVESPA: MMXM3) (TSX: XMM), in compliance with article 157 of Law 6,404/76, and CVM Instruction 358/02, hereby makes the following public announcement:

The Ibama-Federal Environmental Agency issued on March 7, 2008 the Construction License 492/2008 to MMX Minas-Rio Mineração S.A.
