Mobile Broadcast Technology Visionary Rob Chandhok Joins the Roundbox Advisory Board

Roundbox to Leverage Chandhok's Proven Technical and Industry Expertise

FLORHAM PARK, NJ--(Marketwire - May 5, 2008) - Roundbox, Inc., the leader in mobile broadcast software, today announced the appointment of Rob Chandhok, formerly vice president of engineering and market development for Qualcomm MediaFLO Technologies, to the Roundbox Advisory Board. This appointment reinforces Roundbox's commitment to be at the forefront of technical innovation with solutions that will revolutionize the mobile broadcast market by assembling one of the industry's top teams.

Most recently, Chandhok was chief product officer at VoIP startup SunRocket, where he drove his vision for IP-based home-centric data communications products and services. His responsibilities quickly grew to include all of R&D engineering. Previously, as a vice president at wireless technology leader, Qualcomm, Chandhok oversaw the engineering and market development teams that productized that company's MediaFLO mobile broadcast TV initiative. Prior to MediaFLO at Qualcomm, he led the company's engineering and market development efforts for QChat, VoIP push-to-talk for 3G wireless networks and was a founding member of the management team that developed and launched the company's BREW mobile software business.

"The commercial success of Rob's technical innovations have made a significant impact on both the mobile and broadcast industries worldwide," said Jim Nelson, co-founder of Roundbox. "We will draw upon his extensive wireless experience and industry savvy to help guide us as we deliver on our mobile broadcast vision."

"To achieve service differentiation and avoid commoditization, mobile operators must continuously seek the next technological innovation that will drive significant revenue," said Rob Chandhok, Roundbox chief advisor for new products and services. "Mobile broadcast is one important opportunity, and Roundbox is the most innovative company in the space. Their products not only provide foundational components for mobile TV but they are also at the forefront of mobile datacasting solutions, leveraging mobile broadcast technology for their partners to deliver more than just TV. Roundbox's software coupled with next-generation broadcast networks usher in a new model for mobile applications and content delivery."

Currently, Chandhok is providing product, value-added services and business-case consulting to a wide array of innovative high-tech clients. He began his career as a research computer scientist at the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science. After 10 years at Carnegie Mellon, he left and then founded Within Technology to commercialize research and new product development in the area of computer-mediated communication. Within Technology both created its own products and consulted extensively for companies such as Apple, Qualcomm and Broderbund. Chandhok joined Qualcomm in 2000 when it acquired Within Technology.
