Mobile Survey Platform GeoPoll Wins Colorado Technology Association's "Startup of the Year" Award

Award Recognizes GeoPoll for Its Innovative Services and Future Growth Potential

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Nov 10, 2014) - GeoPoll, the world's largest real-time mobile survey platform, is the winner of the APEX Award for "Technology Startup of the Year", awarded in Denver on November 5th. The Colorado Technology Association's APEX Awards recognizes leaders in the Colorado technology sector, and the Startup of the Year Award is given to the most promising new technology company in Colorado, as judged by a panel of industry leaders.

"The Colorado technology sector is growing quickly, and we are honored to have been chosen as the startup company of the year at the APEX Awards. GeoPoll was founded with a simple mission: to increase access to research in emerging markets by improving the quality and decreasing the cost of data collection. In the past year alone we have worked towards this goal by collecting data on everything from media viewing habits in Kenya to food prices in Liberia, and we thank the Colorado Technology Association for recognizing these achievements," said GeoPoll's CEO and Founder James Eberhard.

GeoPoll is a product of Denver-based Mobile Accord, and publicly launched in November 2013 with a $6.6 Million Series A financing round. In the past year, GeoPoll has grown its mobile survey database from 50 million to 200 million users in emerging markets, and has opened offices in Nairobi, Kenya in addition to those in Denver, Colorado, and Washington, DC.

In June 2014 GeoPoll launched a daily media measurement service in key African markets, making it the largest provider of real-time TV and radio ratings data in Africa. Other major projects include a 9-country survey with the ONE Campaign around the US-Africa Leader's Summit, and ongoing food security tracking with the World Food Programme in Ebola-affected countries.

GeoPoll's platform sends surveys to users in emerging markets through the mobile phone, enabling brands, research organizations, and NGOs to benefit from the widespread reach of mobile technology. For more information on GeoPoll visit
