MobileHelp(R) Healthcare Announces New Webinar

Complimentary Session to Highlight How Private-Pay Telehealth Solution Results in Better Patient Outcomes

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - July 27, 2016) - MobileHelp®, a leader in mobile Personal Emergency Response Systems (mPERS) and health management solutions, today announced the topic for a new complimentary webinar, scheduled for August 3rd at 3 p.m. EDT.

Designed to give healthcare providers insight into how consumer-facing telehealth solutions can be utilized as a "step-down" from traditional remote patient monitoring with clinical oversight, the webinar will demonstrate how long-term, positive patient outcomes can be attained through consumer-friendly technology solutions.

Titled "Increasing Patient Satisfaction by Transitioning to Self Care," the webinar will feature Chris A. Otto, SVP of MobileHelp Healthcare and David C. Taylor, RN, telehealth supervisor at the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) of the MercyRockford Health System. The webinar will also include an overview of the changing landscape of remote patient monitoring and population health -- an opportunity for home health organizations, by MobileHelp Board member Harry Leider, Chief Medical Officer and Group VP of Walgreens. Sara Russell Rodriguez, VP of Clinical Services for Honeywell Life Care Solutions, will serve as the webinar moderator.

The webinar will share the positive patient outcomes of MobileHelp's "step-down" telehealth program and data from a pilot conducted with the VNA of the MercyRockford Health System, including:

  • Patients participating in the pilot have reported a 47 percent increase in confidence levels around managing a chronic condition;
  • There was an 86 percent telehealth utilization rate after 24 weeks -- with no clinical reminders (patients were actively managing their own vital signs);
  • Nearly 20 percent of patients have reported an increase in mobility and physical activity due to increased levels of confidence around the ability to access emergency help; and
  • There was only one hospital readmission in the first nine months of the program.

"For years, research has demonstrated that remote patient monitoring is effective for keeping people healthy and out of the hospital," said Chris A. Otto, SVP Healthcare Division for MobileHelp. "This solution is unique because it offers an opportunity to 'step-down' and allows patients the opportunity to keep their equipment and self-monitor their own health on a long-term basis."

In addition to its webinar, MobileHelp also recently released a companion piece whitepaper titled "The Future of Home Health is Here." To register for the webinar, please visit the company website.
