MobileMonday Toronto and RCR Local Join Forces to Present Mobile Predictions 2010

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 1, 2010) -

Attention: Business and Technology Editors

On February 1st, MobileMonday Toronto is teaming up with RCR Local to feature a panel of some of the foremost industry analysts, who will speak on a wide range of issues, trends and forecasts for 2010. The event will feature Krista Napier, Senior Analyst, from IDC Canada, Ron Gruia, Principal, Analyst, Telecom, from Frost & Sullivan, Michael Urlocker, Director - Equity Research, from GMP Securities. The panel will be moderated by Jeff Mucci, the Publisher of RCR Wireless, a leading wireless industry publication. The event is being held in conjunction with MobileMonday Toronto's partnership with MaRS.

With the start of the New Year, the wireless industry in Canada will face interesting new challenges and opportunities. The launch of Wind Mobile and pending launches from DAVE Wireless and Public Mobile have forced incumbent carriers to prepare for renewed and vigorous competition. Mobile devices, applications and the continued growth around social media are changing the way Canadians interact with information and other people.

"This is the first time we've focused on a topic of this nature. We've brought in industry experts to give their thoughts as to what to look for this year. This is also our first event with RCR Local participation. RCR Locals mandate is to help promote communities with a wireless focus, which is perfectly aligned with our strategy" said Jim Brown and Alexander S. Bosika, co-founders of MobileMonday Toronto. "The response from the community has been overwhelming".

"MobileMonday Toronto is the largest mobile networking group in Canada. We're hoping that this is our first of many events we'll be able to partner together. Our RCR Local series is going to help promote the wireless industry and Canadian companies that are having an impact now and in the future. We're thrilled to be part of such a large event" said Jeff Mucci, Managing Partner of Arden Media Company, owner and publisher of RCR Wireless News.

While participating as a part of the MobileMonday Toronto's February 1st event, RCR Local will also be taking the time to conduct short video interviews with innovative Toronto-based companies on Tuesday February 2nd. Please contact Laura Teten, RCR Wireless News, at to schedule an interview.

The February 1st meeting will take place at the MaRS facility, located at 101 College Street (south east corner of College and University). The meeting starts at 6:00pm. To attend, please visit and complete RSVP details. There is no cost to attend this event.
