MobileMonday Toronto-The Mobile Workforce Continues to Grow

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 6, 2006) - Last month, MobileMonday Toronto organized a successful speaking event with Google and Yahoo! presenting their strategic plan for mobile search in the coming years. Each presentation highlighted many observations and challenging obstacles which both search firms concluded would eventually result in many exciting opportunities for industry stakeholders and the end user.

This month, MobileMonday Toronto has organized a three-person panel focused on mobile enterprise applications and communication. Work-force mobility, a buzzword for many years, has finally arrived with mass consumer and enterprise adoption of devices and email solutions which have helped increase productivity - a guiding philosophy which has driven the global economy for more than a decade.

A Yankee Group 2006 Transatlantic Wireless Business Survey concludes that more than 40% of today's workforce is considered mobile. The study further concludes workforce mobility through enterprise applications and communication has increased nearly 10% during the past four years. These findings should be of no surprise since new tools and technologies have created a remote workforce, driven by globalization and geographical demands, to meet changing workforce dynamics. Today, a mobile worker is defined as anyone who spends 20% or more of their time away from their primary workspace.

Jim Brown, MobileMonday Toronto Co-Founder stated, "The trends have been there for a long while. Enterprises have made significant inroads with IT architecture to ensure broad mobile adoption against an increasingly competitive backdrop." Alex Bosika, MobileMonday Co-Founder added, "Enterprises can no longer ignore this trend which has forced many enterprises to adapt quickly with a mobile application strategy which considers their workforce plan 3 to 5 years out." Key mobile application drivers include Email, VPN, field force and sales force automation, CRM and ERP, supply chain including remote monitoring services.

On November 6th at 6:30pm, MobileMonday Toronto presents three speakers who will introduce their enterprise solution to the audience. A moderated Q&A panel hosted by Zed Zidaric follows with an open networking session at the end of discussions.
