Mobilisa Receives Contract From Mikros Systems Corporation

Mobilisa Advances Wireless Design Tool - AIRchitect

PORT TOWNSEND, WA--(Marketwire - November 19, 2007) - Mobilisa Inc., a leader in identity systems and innovative wireless technology, announces the award of a $390,263 contract for further development of their advanced wireless network design tool for the military.

Mobilisa's system, AIRchitect, was originally developed through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program for the U.S. Navy to build an automated tool to help design wireless networks onboard ships. The result was innovative expert-system program developed for use by military planners to quickly design and optimize wireless networks in military environments, such as ships, airports, logistics depots, or even battlefield environments.

"AIRchitect is a powerful tool for computer network engineers in planning their wireless infrastructure for today's and future-class ships," said Curtis Sneddon, Mobilisa's Director of Wireless Programs. "AIRchitect uses advanced radio frequency modeling algorithms to calculate best locations to place communication equipment for optimal coverage based on network designer-specified requirements."

AIRchitect software allowed wireless network design engineers to move from the old-fashioned method of trial-and-error to having the program mathematically determine the optimal location. AIRchitect, uses artificial intelligence and expert system technologies, incorporates blueprint drawings, and then determines the optimal location of where to place its WiFi equipment. The tool is highly interactive with the designer, contains dozens of advanced features, and is easy to use.

Mobilisa is a long standing partner with Mikros Systems Corporation. "Mikros is always pleased to partner with Mobilisa to develop wireless networks for the U.S. Navy," said Tom Meaney, CEO and President of Mikros. "Our partnership will further develop the AIRchitect tool to meet the highest standards and provide cutting edge technology for military use."

The recent modification to the Mikros Radar Wireless Spectral Efficiency Phase II SBIR contract has extended this effort and provided additional funding to support new feature upgrades to the AIRchitect software including true 3D modeling, various ship conditions modeling and dynamic (on-the-fly) verification and validation of solutions.
