Mobiquity Invests $20 Million in London Healthcare, Joins London Mayor in MedCity Initiative and Gilead Sciences

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Feb 9, 2015) - Mobiquity (www.mobiquityinc.com), a mobile engagement provider, today announced that it is investing $20 million over the next two years to expand its offices to London. Coinciding with the Mayor of London Boris Johnson's visit to Boston, Mobiquity's expansion aims to tap into London's strengths in digital health. The company is currently working with Pfizer in the UK to create digital technologies that will deliver better patient outcomes and allow them to manage their own health.

Additionally, Gilead Sciences, a Fortune 500 U.S. biotechnology company, has also announced that it will create a new UK commercial headquarters in Holborn, alongside expanding its international operations in Uxbridge and UK research and development headquarters in Cambridge.

"London and Boston are two of the greatest scientific cities on the planet and our phenomenal research institutions are collaborating closely to help spur the discovery of new treatments to tackle disease," said Johnson. "Gilead and Mobiquity's moves to London further underline the growing importance of the life sciences industry in the UK as we look to ensure that this crucial sector becomes a key contributor to the capital's growth and health."

"We are very excited to extend our healthcare expertise in London," said Mobiquity founder and CEO, Bill Seibel. "Mobile health is an area that is growing rapidly, and there is enormous potential in the UK with the innovative activity and strong leadership of its Mayor."

"The UK and USA are well-matched life sciences partners, and I'm delighted to see the traffic across the Atlantic increasing," said Dr. Eliot Forster, Executive Chair of MedCity. "London and the south east are in the midst of a sustained period of growth and investment in life sciences, and that is attracting great people and companies who enrich our ecosystem further. Gilead and Mobiquity are excellent examples -- different companies with different focuses, both at the forefront of the changing healthcare environment."
