The 23rd annual Canadian Model and Talent Convention (CMTC) will be held this year from May 7 - 10, 2015, at the Hilton Conference Centre in Markham, Ontario. CMTC is an exclusive event that provides Canada's aspiring models, actors, singers and dancers the ultimate opportunity to showcase their talents and be discovered by 70 hand-selected agents, casting directors, producers, and managers from around the world.

Contestants are able to demonstrate their abilities through a variety of competitions held throughout the convention, including runway, photography/go-see, swimsuit, commercial print, cover print, singing, dancing, monologue, cold-reading, kid's casting, improvisation and TV commercial competitions. Each competition is judged by the agents and directors invited from New York, Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal and many more leading industry markets to scout at CMTC, giving contestants a rare opportunity to showcase their talents to a global audience.

The goal of CMTC is to bridge the gap between models, talent and their career makers while being an educational platform for contestants to learn more about the entertainment industry. While competing to be discovered, contestants have the opportunity to learn insider information and gain the proper skills that are key to their success through 14 seminars and workshops, presented by industry experts, agents, managers and casting directors.

Top-model and health advocate Emily Van Raay, who launched her national and international career at CMTC in 2010, will be featured as this year's CMTC Program Book cover model. Apart from modelling for Garnier, Shu Uemura, FLARE Magazine, FASHION Magazine, GLOW Magazine, Clarisonic, Mother Denim and traveling to 15 countries during her career, Emily is also the founder and editor of the successful healthy lifestyle blog Models for Wellness. Developed out of her passion for healthy living, Emily hopes to use Models for Wellness to break the stigma of negative body images and illness surrounding the modeling industry by advocating healthy lifestyles, positive living and a holistic, natural approach to fitness and beauty.

Alumni Model and International Supermodel Liisa Winkler will also be returning to CMTC as a Special Guest Judge for the runway competition. Liisa launched her career after attending CMTC when she was just 15 years old, reaching her supermodel status after landing three consecutive contracts with Gucci and has since walked the runway for Dolce & Gabbana, Michael Kors and Prada. She has also appeared in and on the cover of over 75 different magazines, including Vogue, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour, FASHION and FLARE Magazine.

Gemini Award winning Canadian actor Linda Kash, founder of StudioBe! in Toronto and the Peterborough Academy of Performing Arts, will be hosting this year's improvisation and kids casting competitions, as well as a special improv workshop for aspiring talent hoping to strengthen their skills while attending CMTC. Linda is primarily known as Canada's beloved Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese Angel, which became one of Canadian advertising's most successful campaigns during its 16-year run.

As CMTC is an exclusive event, CMTC staff and security have been instructed to only permit admittance to attendees with an official CMTC badge. Media must be pre-approved for access to the convention space-to request access please contact Audra Anderson at
