ModiFace Updates In-Browser Augmented Reality Platform With New Functionality for Live 3D Try-On

ModiFace E-Commerce 2.0 Allows Beauty Brands to Add Live 3D Try-On to Their Websites With a Single Line of Code; The New Technology Will Be Coming to Brand and Retail Websites Starting With Sephora

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Mar 31, 2016) - ModiFace, the leading provider of augmented reality (AR) technology to the beauty industry, is today announcing the availability of ModiFace E-Commerce 2.0, a web-based platform for trying makeup in live 3D. The original ModiFace E-Commerce tool, launched in November 2014, enabled beauty brands to add virtual try-on directly in the product pages on their sites with a single line of code. Now after two years of data collection and working with more than 20 beauty brands on web-based HTML product try-on, ModiFace has updated the E-Commerce tool with significant improvements and feature additions.

Based on ModiFace's initial evaluation of Live Try-on technology for e-commerce, the key lesson was that the quality of the simulation needs to be extremely realistic in order to have an impact on e-commerce conversions -- with the lipstick, eyeliner, and shadow precisely following the face and the rendering realistically simulating the actual shade. ModiFace E-Commerce 2.0 achieves this and offers new features such as:

1. Best-in-class web-based live 3D facial tracking and simulation technology that works with all modern browsers

2. Simplified integration for beauty brands, which enables the addition of AR to any beauty product page in just minutes

3. Access to a detailed research study on best practices to maximize e-commerce conversions using web-based AR

"ModiFace E-Commerce 2.0 is a key product offering that enables brands to add live 3D augmented reality try-on directly to their product pages within minutes. After launching the first e-commerce AR tool for beauty brands in 2014, we now have significant data on the best ways for brands to maximize e-commerce sales," said Dr. Parham Aarabi, founder and CEO of ModiFace. "We are delighted to bring the highest level of realism and tracking quality to the beauty industry for the first time in web browsers."

The new web-based live 3D AR platform will be integrated in several ModiFace partner sites within the next few months starting with the Sephora Virtual Artist website. It is also available for any brand that is interested in experimenting with AR. A demo of the new technology is available at https://ecommerce.modiface.com.

In addition to the launch of ModiFace E-Commerce 2.0 ModiFace has also been awarded its 10th issued patent on augmented reality, making ModiFace the exclusive legal provider of the patented AR technology for the beauty industry. The latest patent issued by the USPTO (Patent #9,275,400) was awarded in March 2016.
