Modular GTL Fabrication Tour at GTL North America 2014

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 8, 2014) - Attendees to this year's GTL North America conference, hosted by Zeus Development Corporation, will have the unique opportunity to tour Ventech's modular assembly plant in Pasadena, Texas. Participants will see firsthand the production of modular systems developers of GTL plants aim to employ to compete with larger conventional plants.

"Forty-three GTL projects in North America aim to use these types of systems to reduce construction costs and time to market," said Chris Cothran, lead syngas analyst at Zeus. "The systems not only promise to improve capital efficiency and reduce completion times, but also improve precision due to their assembly in controlled environs."

Ventech announced in March a venture with Waste Management, NRG, and Velocys to pursue GTL opportunities. Feedstocks for the systems include natural gas and biogas. The first unit is targeted for Waste Management's East Oak landfill in Oklahoma. Ventech, however, is also developing skid-mounted units for other projects, such as Pinto Energy's GTL plant in Ohio.

"The size of conventional plants is more often constrained by the power output of rotating equipment," Cothran said. "Modular plants, however, are more often constrained by transportation limits. With so many fabrication facilities using advanced dockside loading technologies, constraints in transporting modules to plant sites are improving rapidly."

Latest trends in gas-conversion markets in North America and the impact of modular technology will be presented and discussed at the GTL North America 2014 conference, June 3-5, at the Houston Westin Galleria. Representatives from the following organizations have registered to attend: ABB, Air Products, Aleph Sciences, Axens, Battelle, BP, Clariant International, Davy Process Technology, EmberClear, Emerging Fuels Technology, Energy Technology Partners, Escalera Resources, Everlasting Valve, ExxonMobil Chemical, ExxonMobil Research & Engineering, ExxonMobil Upstream, Falcon Energy Investment, Fluor, Gas2, Haldor Topsoe, IAG, International Test Solutions, Jacobs Consultancy, Johnson Matthey, K&L Gates, Leidos, Linde, MAN Turbo, Matheson Tri-Gas, Methanex, Midrex, Novello GTL, Pinto Energy, Praxair, Primus Green Energy, RTI International, Saint Lawrence Seaway Development, Sasol, SGC Energia, Shell, Southwest Research Institute, Taylor Dejongh, Technip, Velocys, Ventech, Veolia Water, Worley Parsons, WR Grace, ZEEP, Zenrg Fuels, and Zeton.

Early registration is $1097 including a preconference workshop, entitled "Gas Conversion Explained: Opportunities and Challenges in Light of Rapidly Shifting Market Dynamics" lead by Flour, and Ventech's tour. More information is available online: http://www.gtlnorthamerica.com.
