MOUNT VERNON, VA--(Marketwired - June 10, 2015) - After a six week transatlantic journey, Lafayette's liberty ship arrived in Yorktown, Virginia, on June 5th. Moët-Hennessy welcomed the Hermione to the United States and celebrate with an exclusive dinner highlighting l'art de vivre à la française at Mount Vernon hosted by the French Ambassador to the U.S. Gérard Araud and Moët-Hennessy Chairman and CEO Christophe Navarre, and in the presence of Ségolène Royal, French Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy.

Moët-Hennessy, Founding Patron of the project, has supported the Hermione-Lafayette Association for almost a decade as both entities hold many values in common. Moët-Hennessy and its 21 prestigious Maisons have been built on respect for tradition and know-how, the passing on of expertise and a daring and pioneering spirit.

Two special barrels of the Hennessy 250 Collector Blend are making the journey onboard the Hermione. The Cognac is an exceptional blend created to mark the 250th birthday of the Maison, founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy. One of the barrels has been donated to the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association and auctioned on their behalf to preserve and promote this historic site.

Christophe Navarre, Chairman and CEO, Moët-Hennessy; Jim Clerkin, CEO, Moët-Hennessy USA; and Rodney Williams, EVP Spirits, Moët-Hennessy USA, were among the distinguished guests, which also included:
