Molson Canadian Celebrates Hockey's 'True Fans'

Local pre-game parties encourage fans to give their team that 'home ice' advantage during the playoffs

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 11, 2007) - Molson Canadian is rallying hockey lovers to give their team the intangible boost that only a "True Fan" can give during this year's NHL playoffs.

Molson Canadian will be holding a series of events in Ottawa, Calgary, and Vancouver, helping "True Fans" do their part to support their teams on their playoff run.

"Playing in the NHL was a great experience and part of that adrenaline rush, especially when you first step onto the ice, came from the fans," said Brad Marsh, former Ottawa Senators player and long-time NHLer. "I don't think fans truly realize the impact they have on the players and what a boost they give us - especially when you're on home ice and the arena is just going crazy."

Molson Canadian "True Fan" celebrations will kick off in the three Canadian playoff cities - all starting just before each team's home playoff games.

Activities include:

- NHL Alumni Player appearances (in select cities)

- True Fan Message Booth - fans can show their team spirit by recording their own True Fan video with the top picks to be posted online for all to see

- Rookie Card Photo Booth - decked out fans can create their own rookie card in memory of the 2007 NHL playoffs

- True Fan Trivia - fans can test their knowledge of the game to win great fan prizes

"Every year hockey fans come out for the playoffs to support their teams, wearing their jerseys proudly, faces painted, flags waving and air-horns blowing," says Paul Lipson, Senior Brand Manager, Molson Canadian. "This year we decided to formally honour the die-hards - the 'True Fans' - with a promotion that encourages fans to do their part to bring a championship to their city."
