Molson Coors Donates $225 000 for the Construction of Pat Burns Arena

STANSTEAD, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 6, 2010) - Molson Coors Canada today proudly donated an amount of $225 000 to help fund the construction of Pat Burns Arena. Andrew Molson, Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Molson Coors Brewing Company, announced the donation during an honorary groundbreaking ceremony held today at noon in Stanstead.

In the words of Andrew Molson: "We are honoured to do our part to help make the Pat Burns Arena project a reality. For us, Pat Burns has always been a model of perseverance and success. Whether during his tenure as coach of the Montréal Canadiens or as coach of another club, Pat has consistently given his all, while allowing those around him to benefit from his generosity and wealth of knowledge."

This donation is in keeping with the Molson Coors Canada tradition of community involvement which dates back to the days of John Molson, founder of the brewery. The amount is over and above the total of close to $7 million raised to date. Construction costs are estimated at $8.5 million.

The Molson Coors Canada contribution will be donated to Fondation Collégiale Rouge et Blanc which will be accepting donations for the Pat Burns Arena project.

"We are extremely pleased and greatly touched by this gesture on behalf of Molson Coors Canada. The company has long been known for its corporate generosity and community involvement across Québec. Today's donation provides our fundraising campaign with a much needed and much appreciated boost," stated Philip Webster, Chairperson of Fondation Collégiale Rouge et Blanc.
