Molson Coors Turns Out the Lights for Earth Hour

Global Brewing Company and Subsidiaries Participate in Global Initiative

DENVER, CO and MONTREAL--(Marketwire - March 25, 2008) - Molson Coors Brewing Company (NYSE: TAP) (TSX: TAP), one of the leading global brewers, today announced its facilities around the world will turn off all non-essential lights on Saturday, March 29, from 8 - 9 p.m. local time, in observance of Earth Hour.

Earth Hour, run by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) conservation organization, is a global climate change initiative that calls on individuals and business to turn off their lights for one hour.

"Earth Hour is an important reminder that individuals and companies alike need to pay close attention to how our energy use impacts greenhouse gas emissions, and at Molson Coors, our efforts don't stop when the lights go back on," said Greg Wade, global chief supply chain officer for Molson Coors. "We are always looking for ways to be more efficient and reduce our use of energy."

The Molson Coors' Denver headquarters and Golden, Colorado-based Coors Brewing Company will switch off all non-essential lighting outside the offices and breweries. In Canada, the Molson breweries will turn off all exterior lighting and signage, while UK-based Coors Brewers Ltd. will turn off exterior lighting not needed for safety purposes.

Last year, more than two million people in Sydney, Australia turned off their lights for one hour. This simple act reduced Sydney's energy consumption by more than 10 percent. This year it is estimated more than 30 million people will take part in Earth Hour worldwide.

Molson Coors set a global target to reduce its energy use, indexed to production, by 4 percent this year. As part of the U.S. Climate Leaders Program, Coors Brewing Company plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an indexed 12 percent by 2010.

Coors Brewing Company recently won an Xcel Energy Award for saving more than 7.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity in its Golden facility last year, using a multi-pronged approach to target nearly every area of the company. Molson's Montreal brewery received the 2007 Leadership Award for Metering and Tracking from the Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC) for their efforts associated with late startup of soakers/pasteurizers and steam pressure reduction. Coors Brewers Ltd. is working with The Carbon Trust to pilot a new carbon footprinting standard.
