Molson Employees Present Cheque for $203 240 to Centraide of Greater Montreal

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 13, 2006) - Within the context of the annual fundraising campaign organized by Centraide of Greater Montreal, Molson President Kevin Boyce, acting on behalf of company employees, presented a cheque in the amount of $203 240 to Michele Thibodeau-DeGuire, President and Director General of the Montreal chapter of Centraide.

This sum, some 7% higher than last year's figure, was collected through an internal fundraising initiative which targeted Molson employees and retirees, and which included donations from the Molson Donations Fund and the company's Matching Gifts Program. Under the latter program, Molson offers various registered charitable organizations donations in amounts equivalent to monies raised by company employees.

The Molson employee Centraide campaign was launched this year in conjunction with the Molson Volunteering Program under which employees, working in groups of ten, are entitled to devote one day a year to an offsite volunteer activity or charitable organization without loss of pay. This year, a team of Molson employees volunteered a day at Chez Doris Women's Shelter Foundation, a Centraide beneficiary located in the Montreal Borough of Ville-Marie. Each day, the shelter welcomes close to 125 women in difficulty.

On November 14th, under the auspices of the Centraide campaign, Chez Doris Women's Shelter Foundation also received a visit by a Molson delivery truck loaded with a variety of goods donated by Molson employees and suppliers of the company's Montreal brewery.

In taking part in this year's Centraide campaign, Molson honours a longstanding tradition of support to the communities in which the company is active, a tradition which dates back to founder John Molson who was widely recognized for his social commitment and vision of charitable giving.
