Molson Hiring Local Suppliers for its Moncton Brewery: New Brewery is on Track to Start Operations by January 2007

MONCTON, NEW BRUNSWICK--(CCNMatthews - April 4, 2006) - Since the official groundbreaking ceremony last August, several key milestones in building Molson's new Moncton brewery have been achieved. Construction of the new facility is well underway, with the building exterior now completed and the interior building work being finalized. With the first brewing equipment deliveries scheduled to arrive later this month, plans to begin brewing by January 2007 are currently on track.

Molson is proud to partner with the Moncton community and businesses in the operation of its new $35 million state-of-the-art brewery. As part of the next steps in the development of this project, Molson is hosting a supplier fair today to meet with local business representatives regarding supply opportunities at its new brewery.

"Moncton and the province of New Brunswick boast a real wealth of talent and expertise. Molson is committed to supporting its new community and is proud to partner with local businesses for this exciting project," said Jim Pomeroy, Moncton Brewery Manager.

Molson's presence in Moncton is expected to create 40 jobs within three years of commencing operation. The initial hiring process will be looking to fill the first five Production Technician positions by this summer. "These are very interesting opportunities for candidates with mechanical or electrical skills, as Molson will provide them with extensive brewing training", explains Jim Pomeroy. Another ten positions are expected to be filled by 2007, coinciding with the start of production.

"Molson's decision to choose Moncton brings exciting business and employment opportunities to the region, and as the project progresses, the entire community is increasingly looking forward to Molson's new brewery opening", said Moncton Mayor Lorne Mitton.

Today's supplier fair, which takes place at the Delta Beausejour until 4:00 p.m., will enable Molson to grow its Canadian supplier base and allow the Moncton business community to develop business relationships with Canada's leading brewer.
