Monster Media Strikes Gold at OBIES

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - May 18, 2010) -  ESPN, Monster Media, W+K NY and MacDonald Media claimed one of the most prestigious advertising awards when they won the sought-after Gold OBIE in the "Individual Execution" category. The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) announced the 2010 award winners May 4 at a gala celebration in Phoenix, AZ. 

Monster Media's winning storefront campaign featured a groundbreaking street-level digital experience to promote ESPN's 40th season of "Monday Night Football." The storefront dominations were strategically placed in NYC, Chicago and Boston and allowed users to "get in the zone" and challenge a NFL quarterback. The goal of the interactive game was to catch as many footballs as possible, and high scoring game players were able to submit their scores in real time to see how they measured up to users in other cities.

Each installation used a combination of three technologies, including: projected capacitive touch, gesture based natural UI, real-time dynamic data. The fusion of these high-tech features allowed the displays to deeply immerse the user on a level that exceeded any other interactive advertising of its kind. 

This award marks the first time Monster Media has secured a Gold OBIE. They previously received an OBIE merit award for their work for Travelers Insurance and a finalist honor with their Harrah's Resort & Casino campaign in 2009.
