Monstro Releases Social Music Charts -- First Charts to Measure Music Shared on Social Networks

LOUISVILLE, KY--(Marketwire - Apr 24, 2012) - Monstro ( announced today the release of the Monstro Social Music Charts, the only charts to measure music that fans are sharing on their social networks in real time. By measuring the social buzz of each band or song, the charts can immediately identify breakout acts or hits before they appear on mainstream charts.

Monstro captures and analyzes the top songs and artists being shared from popular music services such as Spotify, Hype Machine, iTunes/Ping, Rdio and YouTube. The three charts include the Monstro Top 40, Top 10 by Channel/Source and Top 10 Artists, and can be seen in three time frames -- Now, Yesterday and Last Week. When clicking on a song or artist, users can drill down to see overall trends, distribution of buzz by channel (Spotify, YouTube, etc.), top songs for that artist and who has shared that song or artist recently. For example, Gotye's song, "Somebody That I Used to Know" holds the number one spot as the most shared song in the last 30 days, shared fairly evenly from all major sources and is also one of the top three artists shared now, yesterday and last week.
