Montpetit Appointed President & CEO of Sysco Food Services of Quebec

Attention: Business/Financial Editor, Food/Beverage Editor HOUSTON--(CCNMatthews - June 29, 2005) - (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that David Montpetit has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Sysco Food Services of Quebec, a broadline foodservice distribution subsidiary located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His appointment is effective July 3, 2005, the start of SYSCO's fiscal year 2006.

Mr. Montpetit, 34, joined the Quebec operation in 2002 as director of finance and administration before being named to his current role as general manager in 2004. Prior to joining SYSCO, he served for 10 years in progressively responsible management positions including director of financial analysis and data intelligence at My Virtual Model, Inc., and senior director for financial consulting firm Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. Mr. Montpetit is a graduate of the University of Quebec in Montreal, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1992. He is also a chartered accountant (CA) and a certified public accountant (CPA) and a member of SYSCO's Canadian Merchandising Advisory Council. He and his wife, Genevieve, reside in Montreal.
