Montreal Alouettes: Boulay-Most Outstanding Rookie, Flory-Most Outstanding Lineman

CFL Releases Division Most Outstanding Players

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 31, 2006) - The Canadian Football League announced today the 2006 Rogers Most Outstanding Player Awards for each division and two Alouettes will be finalists for the 2006 Rogers CFL Player Awards which will take place on Nov. 16 in Winnipeg:

MOST OUTSTANDING ROOKIE: ETIENNE BOULAY (1st nomination)

One of the best surprises for the Alouettes in 2006, Etienne Boulay had a stunning season. He made his first career interception and was a consistent threat on special teams with an impressive total of 20 tackles. The Alouettes' 2006 second-round pick, 16th overall, had 12 defensive tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and three knockdowns. He also returned four missed field goal for an impressive 122 yards.

(i)West Division nominee: Aaron Hunt (BC)

MOST OUTSTANDING LINEMAN: SCOTT FLORY (3rd nomination)

The 2003 and 2005 East Division Most Outstanding Lineman, Scott Flory has become the leader of Montreal's offensive line. Flory was CFL All-Star in 2002, 2003 and 2005, and an East Division All-Star in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
