Montreal Alouettes/Division Title up for Grabs : Saturday's Winner Will Secure First Place in the East

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 26, 2006) - The Montreal Alouettes are preparing for the most important game of regular season on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Toronto's Rogers Centre (CBC/RDS/CJAD/CKAC). The winner of the game will finish first in the East Division and will earn the privilege to host the Scotiabank East Championship, on Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.

The loser will have to play in the Scotiabank East Semi-Final on Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will play the B.C. Lions in Vancouver Saturday night at 10 p.m. (Eastern) in a game that will also have consequences on the East Division standings.

Here are the four scenarios of eventual standings in the East Division depending on the results of Saturday's games:

Alouettes and Blue Bombers win:
1- Montreal 2- Winnipeg 3- Toronto

Alouettes win and Blue Bombers lose or tie:
1- Montreal 2- Toronto 3- Winnipeg

Alouettes lose and Blue Bombers lose OR Alouettes tie and Blue
Bombers lose or tie:
1- Toronto 2-Montreal 3- Winnipeg

Alouettes lose and Blue Bombers win or tie OR Alouettes tie and Blue
Bombers win:
1- Toronto 2- Winnipeg 3- Montreal

The Alouettes are looking for a 14th division championship (1946, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1974, 1977, 1979, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004) and a sixth in their last eight seasons.
