The Montreal Alouettes: Mike Ray Signs For Three Years-Canadian Kicker Will be at The Rookie Training Camp on May 26

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 20, 2005) - Montreal Alouettes Vice-President and General Manager Jim Popp is pleased to announce that kicker Mike Ray has signed a two-year contract plus an option with the Alouettes.

Mike Ray (5'10", 175 lbs) was a fourth-round selection, 33rd overall. The top scorer in McMaster Maurauder history with 340 points, Ray was named a second-team OUA All-Star in 2004. He was named a first-team OUA All-Star in 2002 and 2003, as well as being chosen a second-team All-Canadian in 2002. He is 23.

Seven of the Alouettes' nine draft picks in 2005 have signed long-term contracts with the organization. Only defensive back Thomas Whitfield (2nd round, 13th overall) who still has a year of eligibility left at Syracuse, and guard Olivier Manigat (6th round, 51st au total) who decided to go back to school, will not be at training camp.
