Montreal Alouettes: Training Camp Report-Day 8

SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 28, 2006) - The following is today's recap of the Montreal Alouettes' training camp now taking place at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean.

Temperatures rising

The temperature hit heights of 28 degrees Celcius in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu today. This was the first time since training camp begun that the Alouettes had to deal with the heat.

Game prep

As the Alouettes get closer to their preseason match-up with the Blue Bombers, Coach Matthews decided to make today's practice a mock game. The practice was divided into two halves, complete with a half time. It was offense vs. defense and special teams vs. returning units. The players were on the field for just over and hour and twenty minutes.

Ricky Bell

Defensive back Ricky Bell arrived on the Campus du Fort St-Jean today. He will have to undergo his medical exam before he steps on the field.

The boss is in town

Owners Bob and Lisa Wetenhall made their first visit to camp today.

Suter back on the sidelines

Former head trainer Scott Suter stopped by practice today. Suter was with the Alouettes for 10 years, from 1996 to 2005.

Tomorrow's schedule

Practice will start at 9 a.m. at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean.
