Montreal Author and Artist Lesley Fletcher Delivers Truth Wisdom and Humour of Prom in North America

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 10, 2010) - Prom Girls: A North American Rite of Passage by Lesley Fletcher provides an edgy, modern Montreal based account of teen life during the final year of high school leading to the Prom in current times.

In Prom Girls, Fletcher relays real-life teenage stories written in youthful dialect. She uses their language to bring to the forefront their issues, problems and choices, and grants legitimacy, and significance to the milestones facing every teenager on their approach to graduation – a significant rite of passage. Fletcher's casual and teen-friendly style encompasses all the emotions and challenges experienced in one's final year of high school through stories and illustrations. Provoking the reader with insightful snapshots of familiar social situations familiar, she confronts subjects such as racism, sexual promiscuity, rape, lifetime bonds, lifetime lessons and tradition.

Fletcher's over 50 original watercolor illustrations and profound text serve to define stages, choices and life-transforming moments for 17 year old soon-to-be graduates.
