Montreal Intercultural Festival: Discover the Mystery and Flavours of Southern Asia

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - July 29, 2005) - The city of Montreal invites Montrealers to discover the cultures of Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka at the Montreal South Asian Festival, which will be held on August 1 at Ile Notre-Dame, from noon to 10 p.m. The event is part of the Montreal Intercultural Festival which takes place this summer at Jean-Drapeau Park.

Visitors will experience South Asian culture through a variety of events featuring traditional and classical dance, and the musical performance of local artists.

To further highlight the sub-continent's heritage and traditions, this exciting family festival will feature a parade of traditional costumes of various countries as well as entertainment for children. Admission is free and visitors are encouraged to use public transit to the site on Ile Notre-Dame. Jean-Drapeau Park is accessible via the Jean-Drapeau Metro station on the yellow line.
