Montreal-Olympic High-Performance Track and Field Club and the Marathon Oasis de Montreal to Enter a Four-Year Partnership

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 11, 2008) - Montreal-Olympique High-Performance Track and Field Club is proud to announce a four-year partnership with the Marathon Oasis de Montreal and the Circuit Provincial Sports Experts Pegasus in an effort to support tomorrow's leading athletes.

This agreement will contribute to the promising future of Montreal-Olympique, which will take this opportunity to launch its new recruiting program, "Elite en devenir".

Deployed in Montreal and all throughout Quebec, this talent-screening program will reach out to physical educators, parents and grandparents who wish to introduce young people to track and field. The selection process for future elite track and field athletes will be centred on values such as excellence, sport, education, health, leadership and well-being.

According to Stephane Pipon, President of Montreal-Olympique, "the Club has partnered not only with a renowned organization in the running world, but also with Bernard Arsenault, a visionary and an advocate of sport among our youth. This partnership will be beneficial for both organizations and will allow us to pool our expertise in order to promote our new program, 'Elite en devenir'. Together, we will be focusing our leadership on stimulating the Montreal community with the well-being of the younger generations in mind."

Montreal-Olympique and the Marathon Oasis de Montreal will be working in tandem in the coming weeks in order to ask for the financial support of private as well as government bodies for our "Elite en devenir" athletes and our coaches. Both organizations are working toward the same objectives: ensuring greater participation of athletes from Montreal and from the province of Quebec in the next Olympic Games in 2012 and, above all, supporting tomorrow's leaders.
