Montreal to Be Treated to Four Nights of Blues

Government of Canada supports FestiBlues International de Montreal


MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 5, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $35,000 in funding for the 17th FestiBlues International de Montréal, which is taking place from August 7 to 10, 2014. This funding, provided through the Programming component of the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will be used to give a showcase to established and emerging blues artists and to help at-risk youth integrate into the job market.

Quick Facts

  • FestiBlues will present around 40 shows in Montréal's Ahuntsic Park and at various venues in the north of the island.
  • The 2014 edition, which will feature about 50 artists from Quebec, the rest of Canada, the United States and Europe, is expected to receive 25,000 visitors.
