Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) is proud to present a new photo exhibition in the Montréal-Trudeau terminal building. Titled Tarmacadam, it features the work of five well-known photographers from the Shootstudio collective.

"These photographers scoured Montréal in search of images that are emblematic of our city, from landscapes and skyscapes to dancers and athletes-not to mention bagels from St-Viateur Street," said Christiane Beaulieu, Vice-President, Public Affairs and Communications, at ADM.

This exhibition, part of the ADM's Aérogalerie program, is on display in the airport's international and transborder (United States) jetties, on the arrivals level.

As photographer Martin Girard explains it: "We were given clear instructions: capture our hometown, our Montréal identity. We took advantage of it to show the things that set us apart. The exhibition reflects both the perceptions of a newcomer who wants to grasp the very essence of the city, and what locals consider as must-sees. Balancing realism and pictorialism, the images are akin to the instantaneous impressions of someone walking down a city street."

Commissioned by Raymond Cantin from Artpublix, the exhibition includes works by Martin Girard,, Jean-François Gratton, Jérôme Guibord, Jean-François Lemire and Pierre Manning. It was co-ordinated by Desneiges Paquin.

The Aérogalerie program offers airport visitors a variety of exhibitions with artistic, historical or scientific themes. These exhibitions are part of a program that includes permanent displays, multimedia art projections and light art integrated into the architecture.

Aéroports de Montréal is the local airport authority that has been responsible for the management, operation and development of Montréal-Trudeau and Montréal-Mirabel international airports since 1992. The Corporation employs 625 people at both airports and at head office. ADM has been ISO 14001 certified since 2000 and BOMA BESt certified since 2008.
