Montreal-Trudeau to Offer Enhanced Air Service this Winter, Especially to Sun and European Destinations

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 27, 2015) - Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) is pleased to announce the new air services that will be available this coming winter out of Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.

Overall, travellers will benefit from an unmatched choice of winter flight options starting in November, especially for sun destinations. Fully 44 Caribbean, Mexican and Central American centres will be accessible by direct flight from Montréal. Carriers will be offering a total of 9% more seats and 12% more flights to sun destinations than last winter. Capacity will be especially boosted for destinations in Cuba and the Dominican Republic, including the addition of Havana to Air Transat's flight schedule.

However, the major new offering this winter is the non-stop Beijing-Montréal flight inaugurated September 29, which will continue on to Havana starting December 27. Also in international service, Air Canada, Lufthansa and Air Transat will be adding capacity to Geneva, Munich and Paris, respectively.

For the domestic market, Air Canada will be adding flights and seats to several destinations, including Fredericton, Halifax, Ottawa, Moncton, Vancouver, Winnipeg and St. John's.

For the transborder (U.S.) sector, Air Canada and Delta have announced increased winter capacity to Florida, to New York City area's three airports, and to Minneapolis.

Once again in 2015, ADM posted strong passenger traffic growth for the first nine months of the year and all indications are that the trend will continue this winter. The international sector, excluding the U.S., continues to perform well, accounting for 38% of total traffic.
