Montreal Welcomes Its Very First Dance-Themed Exhibition: DansEmotion Expo 2012 Celebrates All Aspects of Dance Culture

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 14, 2012) - Dance enthusiasts are invited to quick-step their way to Quebec's premiere expo dedicated to dance. From April 28 to April 29, Montreal's Place Bonaventure will be home to DansEmotion Expo 2012's dance-themed conference and exhibition designed for both beginners and professionals. The expo will celebrate various styles of dance, including contemporary, hip hop, ballet, jazz and tap, while also serving as an excellent recruiting and networking opportunity for people within the dance industry.

With an exhibit hall of over 80,000 square feet, more than 100 booths and 5,000 to 10,000 people expected to attend, DansEmotion has confirmed an impressive roster of guests hailing from Quebec, Ontario and throughout the United States. École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec Artistic Director, Anik Bissonnette, will be on-hand to conduct one of the many free conferences open to the public. Other various dance-themed workshops will be available for a minimal fee. The expo will also feature appearances from members of the dancing elite including the Casting Team of Cirque du Soleil, The National Ballet of Canada, choreographers from the hit TV show Ils dansent and the American Music and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) from Los Angeles and New York City.

Managing director of DansEmotion Marianne Birch crafted the idea for the expo after years of directing a dance studio and worked closely with a dedicated team to make her vision a reality. "The dance community is one that is full of passion and in need of a platform where knowledge can be shared, communicated and explored," says Birch. "The DansEmotion Expo 2012 is a new and innovative way to pay homage to the spirit of dance while also connecting aspiring artists, professionals and amateurs."

Leading up to the event, DansEmotion invites dancers to enter to win the Creative Innovation Awards. Links to video clips featuring dance performances can be sent to info@dansemotion.com. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary category will present their final performance at the expo. The winning performers will be awarded cash prizes and scholarships sponsored by prestigious dance companies across North America.

Tickets for the expo are now on sale online through DansEmotion.com and PlaceBonaventure.com. Prices are $15 for general admission (six years old and up). Children under six may enter for free. A family package consisting of four tickets is available for $48 and group packages for 10 tickets or more can be purchased for $10 per ticket.
