Montreal's Real Estate Brokers Invite You to Discover Eight of the City's Neighbourhoods

as part of the "Discover Montreal's Neighbourhoods" event, organized by the City of Montreal

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 15, 2014) - The Greater Montréal Real Estate Board (GMREB) and its brokers, in collaboration with the City of Montréal, invite future homeowners to join them in visiting eight vibrant neighbourhoods. These tours take place on October 18 and 25 as part of the 5th edition of the free event "Discover Montréal's Neighbourhoods". This event allows participants to learn about the housing options in the different areas, as well as neighbourhood life and heritage treasures.

The eight guided tours, which each last for two-and-a-half hours, are enhanced by the presence of professional real estate brokers. These brokers will come equipped with recent information about the neighbourhoods being visited, including market statistics (median price of properties, average selling times, etc.) as well as data about the living environment (average age of inhabitants, education level, family type, etc.). "Our members are a valuable source of information for anyone looking to buy a home in an area that reflects their needs and lifestyle," said Patrick Juanéda, President of the GMREB Board of Directors. "We are very happy to be participating in the Discover Montréal's Neighbourhoods event," he added.

In addition, representatives from the City and history enthusiasts will inform participants about the history of the neighbourhoods being visited, as well as the various housing programs offered by the City.

Guided tours are taking place in the following neighbourhoods:

  • Ahuntsic-Cartierville (Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough);
  • Côte-Saint-Paul and Ville-Émard (Sud-Ouest borough);
  • Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough);
  • Rivière-des-Prairies (Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles borough);
  • Sainte-Marie (Ville-Marie borough);
  • Vieux-Lachine/32e Avenue (Lachine borough);
  • Vieux-Saint-Laurent/Bois-Franc (Saint-Laurent borough);
  • Wellington-de-l'Église/Desmarchais-Crawford (Verdun borough).
